Lilac Row at VMD: A Holiday Affair

We did it! Despite the crazy, gale-force winds sweeping across the state this weekend, the Vintage Market Days: A Holiday Affair event was a huge success for Lilac Row. Thank you so much to everyone who braved the weather to shop with us!

 

These pictures are not the best, because of the weird lighting inside the big tent, but all of the dust and dirt kept me from breaking out my camera for long.

Hooks & knobs

I love the idea of using pretty, old doorknobs or hooks to hold everything from towels to jewelry. It's the perfect marriage of decor and function. I'm especially loving the mix of rustic wood with the pretty glass and metallic knobs.

I am loving bright, jewel-toned jewelry this summer. A fun, colorful necklace or pair of earrings easily punches up my otherwise boring summer uniform of shorts and a tank or a cotton dress.

Lilac Row is primarily a collection of fun finds for the home, but we do have a small jewelry display in our booth. This month Laura let me in on the fun by letting me pick out a few of the bright pieces I've been loving to add to our inventory.

Plank Walls :: Creating Character

Most of the homes in my area of town are newer construction. While there are a lot of things I love about a new home, I have also always been drawn to the character and unique-ness of really old houses. Little quirks, architectural elements, nooks and crannies. One great way to give your new(er) home some warmth and character is to add planking to the walls. Even just a feature wall can change the whole feel of a room. Here are a few great rooms with wood planking on the walls.

Lilac Row at Vintage Market Days

Vintage Market Days was a huge success!

We are SO thankful to have been a part of this amazing event. It was hot, hot, HOT, but people still came out by the droves, and we had a blast. Here are some pictures of our booth. I rearranged and re-staged all weekend long as items sold! So much fun.
